What can be said about small town humor? Just about everything if you’ve never been anywhere, ever… In Cedar Rapids, Ed Helms plays insurance agent Tim Lippe, who is sent to a “major” conference in the boomtown of Cedar Rapids, Iowa to save his company. John C. Reilly plays Dean Zeigler, a big shot in the industry, who manages to throw poor Mr. Lippe off his course with the help of Anne Heche and Isiah Whitlock, Jr. (Rubicon, Brooklyn’s Finest).
Co-stars include Sigourney Weaver, Rob Corddry (Hot Tub Time Machine, What Happens in Vegas), Stephen Root (voices in Kung Fu Panda and King of the Hill), Kurtwood Smith (24, That ’70s Show), Alia Shawkat (The Runaways, Whip It) and Mike O’Malley (Glee, Eat Pray Love).

To call insurance agent Tim Lippe (Ed Helms), “naive” is a gross understatement. He’s never left his small hometown. He’s never stayed at a hotel. And he’s never experienced anything like Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Sent to represent his company at the annual insurance convention, Tim is soon distracted by three convention veterans (John C. Reilly, Anne Heche and Isiah Whitlock Jr.) who will show him the ropes and push his boundaries. For a guy who plays everything by the book, this convention will be anything but conventional.
